The good, the true and the BEAUTIFUL

The church has pursued the good and the true, but what about the beautiful? We are introduced to our God as the Creator in the first chapters of the Bible, and what He made He called good. The beauty in the universe is magnificent; it is beyond our ability to give it just praise. God made man in His image and creativity is just one aspect of that image with which we were blessed. We are made and called to not only live beautifully but to also enjoy and, yes, ...to create beauty.

My Journey As an Artist by Lisa Mikler

It’s hard to define Art in today’s world. The rejection of any standards or absolutes has opened the door to everything imaginable. Is this a world a Christian should enter? What is art's purpose? These are all questions the author grappled with in her journey from her childhood love of art, to her young Christian walk within a fundamentalist church that encouraged her to abandon art, to her current understanding that we are not to squander our God given talents but to see them multiplied for His Glory.
